The cheapest seafood that is commercially available is usually farmed and processed at a processing plant that makes the meat and poultry products that go into the sushi and crab pots that are served in sushi restaurants around the world.
But the process can be expensive, so a cheaper option is usually made from wild caught seafood, such as mackerel, tuna and catfish.
“I do see this as the cheapest way to get your seafood.
It’s always been the cheapest option in terms of raw materials,” said Tom Johnson, an associate professor of food science and policy at the University of Florida.”
Tom Johnson says the cheapest salmon available is farmed in Japan and processed in China, which are cheaper than Japan.(Photo: Tom Johnson)This is because Japan is a closed economy, and it’s a country that can’t really control the quality of what goes into its fish, he said.””
You can just buy it online.”

“In a closed country like Japan, you’re not really able to control what goes in.
You’re just going to have fish that’s going to go through this process and then you’re going to ship it back to Japan,” Johnson said.
“So that’s a lot of work, but it’s cheaper than a factory farm.”
If you want to find out the cheapest raw seafood in the United States, there’s a number of options, he says.
“The easiest way to go about that is to buy the salmon that’s been raised in Japan, because it’s not really that far out of the ocean,” he said, “and then you can go to the sushi restaurant, which is usually a small restaurant, and buy the fish.”
Johnson says a more efficient and economical way to find the cheapest wild caught salmon is to find salmon that is processed in the US and then shipped to the United Kingdom, France and other European countries.
“If you’re looking for the cheapest source of wild caught fish in the world, it’s actually farmed salmon, because they’re farmed here,” he explained.
“They’re raised in a controlled environment, and they’re not able to be shipped overseas.”
But the cheapest is probably going to be wild caught.
You can buy wild caught in Japan or you can buy processed wild caught here, so you can be assured that it’s going into a safe environment.
“But Tom Johnson says it’s also possible to find wild caught sushi that is far from the sea.”
A lot of sushi restaurants in Japan are very traditional, and if you’re trying to make sushi, it would be very hard to get sushi that’s far from nature,” he added.
Tom Johnson said the most expensive sushi is actually made in China and is a little bit more expensive.
But, he added, that can be a cheaper way to buy sushi than to go to a sushi restaurant.”
Because it’s so expensive, there are a lot more sushi restaurants than there are wild caught wild fish in Japan.
But if you want sushi, you have to go and have sushi,” he says, adding that sushi is “very expensive in Japan.
“Tom’s experience with wild caught raw seafood has been very rewarding, but he also knows the costs are there.”
For me, it was just really hard to be able to do the things I wanted to do,” he recalled.”
To be able see the salmon being grown in the fields in China that I have a dream of going to and actually see it and be able share it with my family and my friends was just such a blessing.
“It was very rewarding.”
