Tegel is the nation’s largest supplier of plastics, and the company’s latest facility in Illinois is about to start manufacturing products for the aerospace and defense industries.
The company plans to open a new plant in Indiana, a state that has been home to a number of tegel plants, including one in Lawrence, and expects to employ more than 3,000 workers in that state.
The new plant is one of several tegel manufacturing facilities in Illinois.
The state’s governor is expected to sign a bill on Tuesday that will allow companies to locate new plants in the state.
Bruce Rauner said in a statement that the bill will help Illinois become a “manufacturing powerhouse” and “support our state’s businesses.”
The new plant will employ more people than its current Tegel processing facility in Lawrence.
In 2014, the company announced that it would build a new facility in the Illinois town of Lawrence, where it would be building products for aerospace, defense and healthcare industries.
The company’s new plant could help the company keep up with the growing demand for plastic.
In 2014, Tegel said it expected its new facility to employ at least 1,000 people.
Tegel officials did not immediately return a request for comment.
Tegel’s plant is located in the town of Clay.
